Born in 1998, with the motto of promoting technology, creativity and innovation, Techfest has surpassed 17 golden years of creating an unmatched aura of a science and technology spectacle year after year inside the IIT Bombay campus at Powai, Mumbai. It is today well established as Asia's Largest Science and Technology festival, attracting a footfall of more than 1,35,000 and with a reach of over 2500 colleges across India and more than 500 overseas.
In its endeavor to provide an international platform to the youth to showcase their talents and skill sets in fierce competitions, display cutting edge technology and research from all over the globe, showcase a perfect blend of entertainment and technology, have world renowned personalities interact with thriving young minds and foster solutions to alleviate the common man of his banal yet significant problems, Techfest strives for one and all to get inspired and look up to.
Over the years Techfest has gradually diversified into an organisation that apart from showcasing the pinnacle of technical advancement strives for betterment of the society by developing an inclination of youth populace towards the current social issues through unique initiatives. Be it a campaign focussed at promotion of futuristic and eco-friendly technologies or technical innovations aimed at a progressive and sustainable India, these initiatives to address social and environmental causes have set Techfest apart from any other college festival and added a whole new dimension to this organisation working on a non-profit basis.
