Event Description

Saarang, the cultural fest of Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, accredited with a heritage stretching from late 70's, has become the largest student festival of its kind in the country, with a footfall over 50,000. ISO 9001:2008 certified and blessed with a demographic diversity that only a few can boast of, Saarang remains an unrivalled platform for showcasing the energy and creativity of the youth.

Saarang has been the stage for popular performers like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sonu Nigam, KK, Shaan and Zakir Hussain and also for internationally recognized rock bands like Pain of Salvation, Opeth and Anathema. It has also witnessed the likes of Kamal Haasan, Gautham Menon and Arun Shourie. And this year, we are aiming higher and plan to make Saarang bigger and better.

 Popular Night : Saarang 2015 brings you the versatile, the stunning, the one and only Sunidhi Chauhan.

Her musical abilities surpass all boundaries, with hit songs in more than 10 languages. Sunidhi's angelic voice has resounded through the chambers of Bollywood and several other film industries for over a decade now. With songs like "Sheila Ki Jawani" and "Kamli Kamli" she is one of the best live acts.

Also Saarang presents one of the biggest Indian rock bands of the last decade, Agam to enchant you with their amazing compositions at the Popular Night. With a distinctive blend of Carnatic music and progressive rock they are truly a band like no other.

Over the years they have received rave reviews from the likes of A.R. Rahman among others. They have rocked the stage at music festivals such as Chennai Sangamam, MAD Festival to name a few.

Rock Show: Saarang, IIT Madras brings to you, Karnivool one of the pioneering bands of the Australian progressive rock and metal movement at The Rock Show, on the 10th January, 2015 brought to you by The Times of India. 

Their style of music can be classified as both progressive rock and alternative rock, with alternative metal undertones. Good drumming, clean vocals, clean, powerful and aggressive guitar riffs makes the crowd sing along and makes for a unique experience in all their live shows.

However, what the World Fest represents is to experience something extraordinary happening right in front of you, it’s to tingle those senses that make you happy and it’s to create new memories. So, here’s a list of the amazing artists that are going to blow away your mind this Saarang 2015

The Amsterdams, a Romanian Indie electro outfit who play authentic new alternative music truly unique to the region.

Inca Babies  are a post-punk death rock band from Manchester, England featuring founder member and famous songwriter Harry Stafford on guitars and vocals

Humanfolk  is a contemporary Philippine setting of multiple musical idioms such as jazz, rock and electronic music.

We Singing Colors , the Indie pop band from Romania, which started off as the individual project of Andrei Hategan in 2011, has gathered some real steam.

Mark Bonafide , is one of the most successful rappers in Singapore, this famous personality has topped the Singapore R&B charts multiple times.

Pawel Skora , Poland’s number one freestyle footballer has been crowned as Europe’s best dribbler multiple times and is amongst the best freestylers in the world today.
