Event Description

Thomso is the annual cultural festival of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, which has also been recognized as the "Annual Youth Festival of Uttarakhand". Regarded as one of the greatest and the grandest youth festivals of India, Thomso encompasses in itself lavish history, splendid culture and a profoundly rich heritage of IIT Roorkee.

The previous editions of the festival have witnessed the likes of Farhan Akhtar, KK, Mohit Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Indian Ocean, Parikrama, Jal - The Band, Benea Reach and many more performing at the Pro-nites.

The dates for next edition of the festival Thomso'15 have been announced as Oct. 9th to 11th. The theme of Thomso ’15 is “Odyssey to Paradise” as we play host to the zeitgeist of Ancient Greece. The paradise signifies the essence of one of the oldest civilizations in the world – the grandeur of their faith, the staid augustness of their heritage, the fabled resplendence of their accomplishments – which will be cultural highlight of the ensuing edition of Thomso. The destination is lucrative, of course, but the journey has a charm of its own. Thus, the Thomso will bring an odyssey indeed, influenced and irradiated by the rich Greek culture in all its gaiety.
