1.Describe your feelings as the main Co-ordinator of your fest.
I’m one of the main coordinators of the event who volunteered to manage the major work portion of SOUDHA. Other main coordinators are Lakshmana Rao, Pujitha and Asha Devi. It is an event organised collectively by the students of the Department of Civil Engineering and our faculty since 2009, the Head of the Dept. acting as the convenor of the event.

2.What got you interested to be a part of this organizing team?
We, since stepping into the college as freshers, looked up at this event organised by our department annually as something wonderful, providing a stage for students to exhibit their unique skills and to expand their knowledge horizons through interaction with top notch resource persons. What I found more fascinating was that it is being managed to a maximum extent by the final year students of the department. I was a person with dreams of entrepreneurship since my adolescence. Thus, acting as a main coordinator of SOUDHA would be a great opportunity to manage an organised work and also contributing what I can to hold up the Department’s pride.

3.How did you plan this festival?Take us through the huge process in brief.
It is the Department’s tradition to organize SOUDHA annually during the last week of February or first week of March. Since the past 3 years, we have been enjoying the event volunteering in certain work divisions. We used to observe the highlights, notice flaws which could have been avoided and we used to interact with the participants, taking active feedback. This process helped us eventually in planning the event without neglecting any known error prone regions. We are really excited about this whole process of learning.

4.How did you select the organizing team?Any specific criteria?
The entire student body is the organizing team of SOUDHA. We made various work divisions for smooth handling of event and people interested in a particular work division volunteered. Each division consists of 4-5 final year students coordinating it, major execution being done by the third and second year students under the guidance of the final year coordinators. Each coordinator in every division assumes responsibility and takes pride in executing the work. They coordinate with the main coordinators of the event and work is progressed in an integrated manner.

5.Organizing a massive event is always challenging.Tell us about the key challenges you faced organizing this event.
Working out the previously mentioned strategy and coordinating all the work divisions is really challenging. But with friendly and precise communication among all the coordinators and with mutual cooperation we are advancing at a good pace. The pride we take in holding up our department’s well deserved reputation is our major driving force.

6.How was your experience with college fever?
We didn’t expect such fast and friendly response from college fever when we first contacted through mail. The clear communication and simplicity in work of Avinash Hiremanth and his team is pleasantly surprising. We are happy for making agreement with college fever. We look forward to conduct events with them in future as well.

7.Finally,what advice would you give to other event/fest organizers?
Clarity in vision of what we plan to do and simplicity in execution are necessary for conducting any serious event. Friendly communication among the team and making the plan details absolutely precise and clear to everyone we are working with from the very beginning itself, saves lot of valuable time.
