IIT Kharagpur presents the 13th Annual Alumni Meet from 15th to 17th January, 2016, based on the theme “Back to the Roots”. This is a three day event that would witness the reunion of Diamond, Golden, Ruby, Silver Jubilee batches of graduation. It's time when the alumni reunite with their alma mater and relive the carefree times that were left behind. They take a walk down the corridors of nostalgia and commemorate the good old days through the events like Campus Tour, Departmental Visits, Hall visits, Musical Night, Gala Dinner, Entertainia, 2.2 Marathon, Illumination and Bonfire, Charity cricket etc. However, the purpose of the Meet goes beyond reigniting nostalgia.It is a platform where the best minds of the world gather in their Alma Mater to become a part of the steps taken for the amelioraton of the place they once called “home”. The endeavours of the institutes and how the alumni community can contribute towards those discussed through Alumni Support Meetings. The institute boasts of the most extensive alumni network and the Meet is a way of strengthening ties between the institute and alumni community.Its grandeur has grown in the past years.The tremendous positive response received by this venture holds testament to its success. This edition of the Annual Alumni Meet focuses on the concept that the years spent at KGP truly moulds and shapes our personality. The unconditional love that is shared for KGP, the obsession with Hall, Department and Society stays as the alumni wander from personal to professional life even after graduating from their Alma Mater. Take a stroll down memory lane and recall and cherish the best moments of youth and rekindle old friendships and comradeships through the Meet; back to the place where their most exciting journey began, “Back to the Roots”.
