Every year, we come up with a unique theme to be portrayed in the festival. A smart city uses information and communication technologies (ICT) to enhance quality, performance and interactivity of urban services, to reduce costs and resource consumption and to improve contact between citizens and government. The festival will focus on various aspects of this very concept, including the much lauded ”Internet of Things”, and developed versions of alternative energy generation, transportation, infrastructure, public security and smartvillages.
Being from an engineering institute, we’ve been blessed with the right kind of resources to prepare an ample lot of working projects that would emphasize on the ideas and innovations that will revolutionize the field of technology. Our unique “centre model” will strive to elaborate on all the aspects of the concept of Smart cities, by means of innovative props, robotic inventions and educational visuals.

Also this year at IEEE OMEGA we are promoting ideas and innovations relating to smart city. Due to the recent startup culture taking over our country, we will also be awarding the best startup idea. There will be an online voting for ‘The Best Smart City Idea’ and ‘The Best Startup Idea’ to maintain transparency in the results. We have organized a wide variety of seminars and informative lectures, along with our flagship events, Technical Paper presentation and Technical Project Exhibition., IEEE Omega’16 will also cater to many inter-collegiate competitions which include contests like RoboWars, Web Designing and many other technical events. We also have fun events like Laser Tag, Neon Sports (Bowling, Cricket, Chess, etc.), LAN Gaming and Treasure hunt, to entertain weary young minds.
